The CYDC project focuses on educational support & skill development for the children and youth. It provides opportunities for youngsters to further their education and realize their dreams. The project supports 210 children & youth through mentorship, library service, art skill, and IT training, after school snack provision, vocational & higher education scholarship, scholastic material provision, and psycho-social services. The project also creates a safe space where protect them from danger.
The existing low educational competence of school children, particularly those enrolled in government schools is high. The root cause for this in most cases is the inability of government school students, who in most instances are from poor family backgrounds. The registered low standard in the teaching and learning process of these schools remains to be the other challenging factor.These being the underlying factor for the center to embark on such community-based initiative.
NBCDC provides a number of educational services to address the right of children and the youth to access quality education and skill development services. In which case it provides tutorial services, center-based talent, and skill development training that includes ICT & art, provides at spot and home take library services, educational sponsorship to university and vocational centers provides psychosocial support services and life skill development that allows them to be competent and efficient
The long term impact of the project is creating educational and livelihood opportunities for vulnerable children and youth that are an instrument for positive and sustained social development at the community and household level. Accordingly, the project in the long-run shall ensure the development of high self-esteem and motivation for success among vulnerable community members. The creation of more empowered and aspiring citizens for change is also the anticipated positive long-term impact.
