Rain, football and everything else

The rainy season is in full blast in Nepal at the moment. Some children were trying to use the rain as an excuse not to go to school but we got them some colourful rain coats and that sorted the problem!

It is VERY hot now so trips to the swimming pool are very popular with the boys and 2 or 3 cold showers a day. Their school starts at 6am in the summer and they are back home by midday to avoid the hottest part of the day. They still have a lot of energy though and play sports and dance after they finish their homework.

From some exciting news - a few of our boys will be taking part in the national football competition for street children shortly. We have now got a coach arranged who is coming to the children's home everyday so hopefully they will become professionals soon. If they play well at the national level, one or two might get a chance to play in Russia next year duiring the International Football Cup for Street Children. We're keeping our fingers tightly crossed!

Sujan celebrated his birthday last week and was very happy with all the presents. In Nepali style, all the other boys smeared his face with the birthday cake and then there was a lot of dancing! There are 20 boys at the home at the moment and we are also trying to help 2 more so they might be joining us at some point soon. We are going to visit them in a week or so, so will be keeping you updated with all the progress.

And as always, thank you so much for your continuous support. It means a lot to us and the children.
