Empowering Women Through Financial Inclusion: Prime Trust Signs MoU with Puduvai Grama Bank and NABARD
We are delighted to share a significant milestone in our journey toward women's empowerment and sustainable community development. On 17 June 2026, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Prime Trust, Puduvai Grama Bank, and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) at the corporate office of Puduvai Grama Bank, Puducherry.
This partnership marks a major step forward in strengthening the economic resilience of women from underserved communities by enhancing access to microfinance services. Through this collaborative initiative, eligible women belonging to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will have improved access to micro-loans that can be utilized for income-generating activities, micro-enterprises, livestock development, small businesses, tailoring units, handicrafts, and other livelihood opportunities.
Financial inclusion remains one of the most effective tools for poverty reduction and social transformation. Many women possess the skills, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit needed to improve their family's economic condition but often face barriers in accessing formal financial services. This MoU seeks to bridge that gap by creating a structured pathway for women to access affordable credit, build financial confidence, and develop sustainable livelihoods.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to promoting self-reliance among women and strengthening grassroots development. By combining the community outreach and capacity-building expertise of Prime Trust with the banking services of Puduvai Grama Bank and the developmental support of NABARD, the initiative aims to create long-term positive impact in rural and semi-urban communities.
Beyond providing financial assistance, the collaboration will focus on strengthening the overall capacity of women Self-Help Groups through financial literacy, responsible credit utilization, savings promotion, entrepreneurship development, and business management support. These interventions will enable women not only to access loans but also to effectively manage and grow their enterprises.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from Puduvai Grama Bank, representatives of NABARD, and members of Prime Trust. During the event, participants highlighted the transformative role of SHGs in fostering community development and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing women's economic empowerment.
Prime Trust extends its sincere gratitude to Puduvai Grama Bank and NABARD for their confidence and partnership in this meaningful initiative. Together, we look forward to creating opportunities that enable women to become financially independent, confident decision-makers, and active contributors to local economic growth.
As we embark on this new chapter, we remain committed to building stronger communities where every woman has the opportunity to thrive, lead, and shape a better future for herself and her family.
Together, we are investing in women, strengthening livelihoods, and transforming communities.
