Christmas fund supporting individuals at TN

 I Introduction

In July TN received a transfer of funds from GlobalGiving for its three (3) projects which are: Headquarters Project, Member’s Health Project and Vulnerable Members Individual Support Project for Christmas. This report is soley about the project to individually support its vulnerable members for Christmas. Given that over time, the circumstances of some members have improved and that the 2nd and last transfer of funds received is less constitutive, we have prioritized the individual care of the most vulnerable members. The report will cover the activities carried out and its financial update.

II. Activities 

On July 14, 2023, the committee met to prepare and schedule the meeting with the beneficiaries. On July 26 convened all the most vulnerable members involved in the project were convened in order to give them funds. Of the 48 beneficiary members of the project, the total amount received was entirely used to individually support the 22 beneficiaries recognized as the most vulnerable to enable them to pay for basic necessities to celebrate Christmas in a delayed way. All the other members agreed that they should be supported.

III Results achieved 

The 22 most vulnerable members were financially supported to allow them to pay for Christmas products in a delayed manner. The overall objective of the project was achieved.

VI Conclusion :

Tigoung Nonma Christmas 2023 Activity and Financial Report (Project 57729)

                                                                        I Introduction

TN introduced a project in 2022 on GlobalGiving to support its 48 vulnerable members so that they would be able to celebrate Christmas well.

The project was approved and TN received funds to go ahead with this project.

Funds received from GlobalGiving donors and our ex-volunteer to support 48 vulnerable members for Christmas were used to support 52 members instead of the previously planned 48. TN organized an awareness day on peace, social cohesion and citizenship during which the was a presentation of wishes and donations were made to members.

II Activities

II. 1 Organisation of a meeting for discussion and awareness-raising, for the presentation of wishes and for the gifting of 25kg sacks of rice to members.

On Thursday, January 12 2023, the Association TIGOUNG NONMA (TN) organised a day for awareness-raising about the promotion of peace, social cohesion, citizenship and the resilience of members in the face of terrorism. 

 This activity saw the participation of the following five authorities and members of TN:

ü  A representative of the Permanent Secretary of the Multisectoral Committee for the Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, of the Ministry of National Solidarity and of Humanitarian Action

ü  Four representatives of the National Federation of Craftsmen of the Central Region (FEREAC), including the President and three of their members.

ü  Fifty-two TN members.

After the awareness-raising, TN provided a meal consisting of fish and rice plus a drink of locally produced juice to each participant to mark the presentation of wishes.

A donation of a 25kg sack of rice was given to each member, plus a sum of 1,500F CFA

II.3 Results achieved

• Awareness-raising and the promotion of peace, social cohesion, citizenship and resilience to terrorism for 60 participants, including 53 members, for their families and their respective localities.
• Contribution of the food ration for 52 members who each received a bag of rice and travel expenses
• This activity allowed the members of Tigoung Nonma to celebrate Christmas without delay.

II.4  Difficulties encountered

From 27/12/2022 to 31/12/2022, Ouagadougou and some cities in Burkina were out of fuel. This made travel very difficult for eberyone, including our members. Hence the need to support our members at Christmas.

II.5 Looking ahead

• The organisation of three craft days for persons with a disability with the following activities :

o    Organise three days of sales exhibitions of our products

o    Continue the Catering Service

o    Organise awareness-raising on the rights of people with disabilities, and how to manage the security problems and the high cost of living in Burkina Faso.

o    Make donations to vulnerable people including internally displaced people with disabilities.

• Capture everything that TN has achieved since its formation in the form of a film documentary.
• Use our financial resources to contribute towards the improvement of the health of our members and finalise the work still required to complete the new accessible headquarters/workshop.
• Finalise the 2023-2025 action plan.

II.6 Conclusion

The members of the TN Association and its SCOOPS/TN remain resilient in the face of the difficulties that their country Burkina Faso is going through. Thank you to all the donors whose generosity has allowed us to carry out awareness-raising activities and give support to our members.
