Dear Friend,
Thank you so much for supporting the Middle East Children's Alliance Maia Project to bring safe, clean water to the children of Palestine.
So far in 2018, MECA installed new water desalination and purification units in two elementary schools and one middle school, serving approximately 5,000 students. And when students bring water bottles and carry clean water home to their families, many more people benefit from this project.
Your contributions are being put to use to cover additional unexpected expenses for the new units (like larger storage tanks or additional filters in high salinity areas), hire local staff in Gaza who do regular water quality testing at all the schools and preschools where we have installed units (more than 70 locations!), follow up with engineers on any necessary repairs or maintenance, lead water education workshops for students, and identify locations for new water units.
I'm also happy to share the sign installed at Shujaia School where your Giving Tuesday donations funded a water purification unit for 2500 children! Many, many thanks!
