Cyclone Yash vs VDMC team's preparedness

A super cyclone named Yash is likely to attack the Sundarbans coast of Bangladesh between 23 to 25 May 2021.

The devastation capacity of the cyclone is equal to the cyclone Amphan that attacked last year. Cyclone Amphan caused 15 billion USD of economic losses on the Sundarbans coast. In that case, this cyclone Yash can cause similar or more loss and devastation.

To mitigate the loss and damages, BEDS together with the Village Disaster Management Committee (VDMC) members are working at the community level to aware people in advance so that they can take necessary preparation to mitigate the loss due to the cyclone.

VDMC members and BEDS team are miking and going door to door to inform them about the upcoming cyclone. They are informing them that there are adequate facilities in BEDS ‘Cyclone Shelter and Training Center’. People can take shelter during the cyclone and can mitigate risks.

We are extremely grateful to our donors for their continuous support. We would like to request all our donors to start monthly recurring donations for our project.
