Hifadhi Africa Organization is launching CLUB 10, a new monthly giving community that invites donations of just $10 monthly. This budget-friendly entry point recognizes that even those who might not have much to give can still play an important role in supporting the cause of clean water for all under SDG 6. While $10 monthly may not seem much, over a year's time, this grows to $120 and provide at least one person with reliable water access for an entire year.
COVID-19 laid bare the disparities in water access in Kenya. Hand washing is a community's first defense against the virus, but a shocking number of underserved communities do not have water access and soap for handwashing. Nearly 1 in 3 Kenyans lack access to clean water and are without safe and dignified toilets.
CLUB 10 initiative seeks to create a groundswell of support for equitable and sustainable safe water access, improved sanitation, and hygiene and strengthened ability of underprivileged communities to develop and maintain sustainable water and sanitation systems. CLUB 10 is also a nod to the 10 years we are from 2030, when UN has challenged our sector to finally end the world water crisis and ensure everyone has reliable access to water and a toilet.
CLUB 10 is a sign that people care and commit to working together to achieve this. It demonstrates the positive things that a few people working together can achieve. The vision is for each member to be a force for good that can help unlock stubborn challenges facing communities - a partner that shares HAO's desire for transformation of human development and experiences.
