On February 20, the World Day of Social Justice reminds us that dignity and inclusion are not abstract ideals, but urgent needs for vulnerable families in Mozambique. Through the Community Justice for Resilience project, AAAJC continues to provide free legal aid, civil registration for displaced children, and paralegal training for youth and women.
In recent months, our mobile legal clinics have assisted families facing land conflicts and labor disputes. One mother in Tete, previously denied access to health services because her children lacked civil registration, was finally able to secure documentation through our campaign. Her story reflects the broader impact: restoring rights and opening doors to education and healthcare.
At the same time, we have advanced paralegal training. Over 40 youth and women have already completed modules in mediation and community legal literacy. These new paralegals are now supporting neighbors in resolving disputes peacefully, reducing exploitation, and strengthening resilience at the grassroots level.
Our partnerships with justice institutions and law faculties have also grown. Faculty members are engaging with our paralegal trainees, ensuring academic rigor and accountability. This collaboration positions AAAJC not only as a service provider but also as a catalyst for systemic change.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to our long-term goals: resolving 500 legal cases, registering 2,000 children, and training 100 paralegals by 2027. Each milestone brings us closer to a Mozambique where families live with dignity, youth lead justice initiatives, and communities thrive inclusively.
On this World Day of Social Justice, we thank our supporters for standing with us. Your contributions make it possible to defend rights, reduce exclusion, and empower communities. Together, we are building resilience and justice for Mozambique’s most vulnerable families.
