Local Health Support Needed for Rural Women

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank the donors who have supported the Community-Led Women's Health Project in Nigeria. Your generosity reflects care for women who face serious challenges accessing basic health services. We truly appreciate the support received so far, however, the funds available at this time are still not enough to begin the planned activities.

In many rural communities, women struggle to access care during pregnancy and childbirth. Long distances, limited facilities, and lack of trained personnel make it difficult for them to receive timely support. As a result, many face preventable health risks.

Without nearby services, women are often left to manage pregnancy and delivery without skilled help. This increases the chances of complications and delays in receiving proper care.

This project is designed to train 1,000 community health workers, provide clean birth kits, and deploy mobile care teams to reach underserved villages. These efforts will bring care closer to women who need it most.

With trained local workers and regular visits, more women can receive support during pregnancy and childbirth without traveling long distances. This can improve safety and reduce avoidable risks.

We are grateful for the support already shown toward this effort. With additional contributions, it will be possible to begin delivering care to communities that urgently need it.

Support Women's Health in Rural Nigeria

Dear donors,

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our Community-Led Women’s Health Project in Nigeria. Although no donation has been received yet, we truly appreciate everyone who has viewed, shared, or shown interest in this work. Your attention matters, and it gives strength to our commitment to improving the lives of women in underserved communities.

The health challenges facing women in rural Nigeria remain severe. Many villages have no safe clinics, no trained birth attendants, and no access to basic health care. Pregnant women often rely on untrained helpers or give birth at home without support. When complications arise, the nearest facility may be hours away, and most families cannot afford the transport cost. These gaps lead to preventable deaths, untreated infections, and long delays in getting help. The maternal mortality rate remains extremely high, with an estimated 512 deaths per 100,000 live births—one of the highest in the world.

This project was designed to respond directly to these problems. Our plan is to train 1,000 community health workers who will serve as trusted, frontline support in their villages. We will also distribute clean birth kits to reduce infections during delivery and run mobile care teams that will provide antenatal check-ups, referrals, and safe delivery support. By taking care directly to the communities, we reduce the long travel distances that often cost women their lives. With proper training and regular visits, women can finally receive the care they need close to home.

However, we cannot begin any of these activities yet because no funds have been received. Training health workers, assembling birth kits, and organizing mobile care teams all require resources before implementation can start. Without initial funding, we are unable to launch the first phase of the project.

We remain committed to improving women’s health in these rural areas. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help us take the first step toward saving lives and building a lasting community-led health system. Your continued support will bring us closer to creating safe, reliable care for mothers who have none today.
