Challenge

We have our own building now (hooray!) - but our campus still lacks some of the some of the most important tools for learning. Our students, along with all the residents of Port-au-Prince, also face ongoing uncertainties surrounding transportation and safety.

Solution

We are raising money to outfit EIM with electricity and Wifi. High speed internet is a critical resource for our students to have access to English materials, search for jobs, and more. Opening a computer lab will also enable EIM to hold remote classes when needed and host cultural exchanges with volunteers abroad.

Long-Term Impact

English in Mind is an educational oasis for over 200 students and teachers striving for an edge in the employment world. In Haiti someone with a high school degree who speaks English will often be chosen for work over someone with a university degree who does not. It's just that powerful.
