Update from Haiti, summer 2022
By Steph Price | Project leader
Bonjou from EIM Haiti! We just wrapped up our 2022 exam season in rapid time — 175 students in 7 days! It’s amazing what’s possible when you have your own school campus. By offering classes both morning and afternoon, we created a streamlined experience for students and moderators alike. While we don’t have any new graduates to announce, on the whole we had a much higher pass rate than last year, when we were forced to close school at times due to COVID and general insecurity in the country. So overall, a success!
The biggest news of the summer though is the opening of our EIM computer lab! Our 14 seat lab, which is equipped with Chromebooks and high speed internet is a huge step forward in modernizing our school. Not only can our teachers supplement their classes with additional English resources from the web, we can also offer remote classes, and provide a way for our students to do research, look for jobs, and connect with important contacts. Many of our students don’t have regular access to dependable internet, so this is a huge step forward, not just for our school, but for our community as a whole.

Update from EIM Haiti, winter 2022
By Kate Marino | Project leader
Hello Friends of EIM!
Greetings from Haiti! We're happy to report that our growing school grounds are humming with the sounds of English classes. EIM students and teachers are enjoying springtime as we near the end of another school year.
With the building phase complete on our grounds, we're looking ahead to outfitting our campus with electricity, high-speed Internet, and a computer lab. The possibilities this will open up for EIM's students, teachers and community are endless. We'll be able to hold remote classes when needed, host cultural exchanges with volunteers abroad, and make it easier for our students to search for jobs and resources online.
Stay tuned!
