Masamba Community Development Initiative plans to build a 1 by 3 classroom block for vulnerable children to provide them with universal primary education. These children hail from the poorest part of Kasenengwa eastern part of Zambia southern Africa. The project would help 500 children gain quality primary education. Therefore, the main objective of this project in the long run is to improve the infrastructure and reduce the illiteracy levels among the young children.
There are currently over 500 learners at Masamba primary school with only a 1 by 3 classroom block which is not enough to accommodate all the learners. The learners are over crowded in the three classrooms available. The school runs from pre-school to the seventh grade and the children are at risk of contracting different diseases because there is no proper ventilation. In addition quality education is compromised because qualified teachers shun the the school.
The project will help in providing quality education to the children which is key to human development. The parents will be willing to send their children to school which will reduce illiterate levels faced by the community. The project would also provide conducive learning environment for both the learners and teachers. It would also provide universal primary education for all.
This project will assist in youth development through provision of quality primary education and also talent identification through sports at school. It will greatly help in preventing social vices such as child delinquency, nyau dancing (traditional dance), fighting, smoking and prevention of HIV/AIDS in the community. It would also reduce the poverty levels faced by the community.
This project has provided additional documentation in a DOCX file (projdoc.docx).
