Dear Friends and Donors, Namsthe,
Greetings from Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS) India!
We hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.
We are very grateful for your generous donations to support our Covid Emergency Relief program in India. With your help, we have been able to provide essential relief and care to the most vulnerable communities in Guntur district.
From July to October 2023, we received only US$480 from this project, but we managed to use other available sources to implement the following activities:
We distributed food dry ration kits and hygiene supplies to 200 COVID-impacted families in two slums of Guntur district.
We supported 50 orphaned HIV-infected children in Guntur with nutritious food kits twice.
We provided daily breakfast and evening meals to 40 waste picker family’s children in Guntur city for one month.
We gave a small cash support to 10 staff and volunteers of BASS to cover some of their family needs.
We also provided medical aid to 5 severely ill-bedridden patients with walker callipers and wheelchairs.
We continiouly cared for 100 elderly people by providing them with daily meals and medical needs. We operated a daily meal program for 100 neglected elderly people in two locations in Guntur district.
We educated the slum families and children on how to prevent Covid or other diseases with preventive habits. We also made them aware of the importance of hygiene and protecting themselves from mosquitoes.
We are happy to report that there is no identification of severe Covid cases in our target areas, but we are still vigilant and cautious as many people are suffering from viral fevers with Covid symptoms. Dengue and other fevers are also severely affecting the people, and they spread quickly among the family members.
We are also concerned about the high number of people who were previously affected by Covid and who are suddenly passing away due to issues of lungs, heart or other damages without prior identification of ill health.
Therefore, we request you to kindly donate to the project again to continue our project activities for the slums, elderly people and vulnerable children in Guntur. Your timely care, love and compassion can make a huge difference in their lives.
Thank you for your generous support and trust in our work.
We look forward to receiving your kind continued help for the most affected children and elderly.
with gratitude,
