Dear Donors and Friends,
Namaste!
We extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support of our initiatives. Your generous contributions have been absolutely crucial in providing vital nutrition to children in the slums of Guntur.
Supporting Our School Children
As the new academic year is about to begin on June 12, 2025, we are preparing to welcome over 120 children to our project school – an upper primary school up to 7th grade located in the Chandra Rajeswararao Nagar slum, Guntur. The last academic year (2024) recently concluded, and our students are currently enjoying their summer break.
Even during the holidays, our other after-school learning centers have continued to operate with only short breaks, ensuring continuous learning. Our dedicated teachers have been actively enrolling new students and conducting outreach campaigns in the slums since June 1st to identify children who can benefit from our free school.
Many of these children come from families where parents are daily wage earners in construction, as motor mechanics, in transportation, or in domestic work. These families often struggle to provide sufficient food and meet their basic needs. Consequently, many children arrive at our centers without breakfast, eagerly awaiting the midday meal provided at school. More over there is no other education facilities avaialbeo for over 9000 families in this slum. Therefore, offering edcaution and nutritious meals is not just important—it's essential for their well-being and ability to learn.
We urgently need your continued support to provide daily nutritious midday meals to 100 children. We estimate that $500 per month is needed to sustain this vital program. We humbly request you to consider subscribing to a recurring donation of at least $100 per month for the new academic year 2025.
We're also delighted to share our students' success stories, providing powerful examples of the impact your support creates.
Day Care for Migrant Children at Mirchi Yard
We are also excited to announce the planned re-opening of our non-residential day care hostel for children of migrant families at Mirchi Yard, Guntur, in July, after the summer break for the chili yard. This initiative, launched with permission from Samagra Shiksha, Guntur Government of Andhra Pradesh, successfully operated until April.
Guntur's Mirchi Yard is a major hub where thousands of migrant workers, particularly from Bihar and Odisha, are engaged in grading chilies. We have identified approximately 1,500 children under the age of 10 living without proper care and protection as their mothers work long hours in chili grading. This day care center aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for these vulnerable children. Our dedicated team for this special project includes one coordinator, two cooks, and two helpers, all working diligently to ensure its effective organization and the well-being of the children.
A donation of just $500 is enough to provide daily meals to 100 children for an entire month in the Guntur slum. We are incredibly grateful that your generous donations have already contributed $845 to this project over the past four months, up to May 2025.
We humbly request you to consider making a new donation or subscribing to a small monthly donation for this project. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference. Additionally, please help us reach more hearts by sharing our project with your networks on social media.
Thank you once again for your continued trust and support.
With Gratitude
