This summer is not turning out as we’d hoped. In the US and abroad, communities are grappling with the impacts of the Delta variant. And COVID-19 vaccines remain out of reach for millions of people, most of whom live in low-income countries. I’m writing to you from Portugal, where I'm checking in on my family many months after the pandemic upended our lives.
Remarkably, GlobalGiving partners remain energized, compassionate, and agile in responding to this prolonged global health crisis. These local leaders are delivering life-saving oxygen, food, psychosocial services, and comfort to communities around the world.
Through your generosity, we awarded $1.5 million in emergency grants to 101 nonprofits providing COVID-19 relief services in 37 countries across five continents.
As we navigate the uncertain times ahead, I’m confident that the generous support of donors like you and the commitment of our nonprofit partners will continue to save lives, strengthen the resilience of communities worldwide, and cultivate hope.
In gratitude and solidarity,
Sandrina + the GlobalGiving Team

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
