We are providing support to public and charitable hospitals in the city of Mumbai by purchasing the basic medical items they urgently need to offer the appropriate assistance to COVID-19 patients.
The figures for the second wave of COVID-19 are terrible, with more than 300,000 infections and more than 3,000 people dying every day. The situation has generated terrible scenes. Hospitals are full, and hundreds of patients die at their doors. Even those who are admitted find they have to share their beds with other patients, or cannot receive medicines or oxygen. If we do not act, it will be a drama for thousands of people.
Our priority is to contain the COVID-19 by providing support to hospitals, to mitigate the devastating consequences that the disease will have for the population, especially for the most underprivileged, who do not have access to basic resources to survive. Our goal is to support public and charitable hospitals to purchase the basic items they need to offer the appropriate assistance to COVID-19 patients.
Supporting hospitals will allow them to save lives during this terrible outbreak. Hundreds of people will survive and will be able to come back to their families.
