GlobalMedic is responding to needs created by the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe in order to control this virus, it is extremely important for all of our local agencies (public and private) to work together to ensure the health and safety of our citizens, and we are doing our part in this ever-changing situation.
Since the beginning of 2020, the world has been affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. Canada has been actively responding in an attempt to limit the spread of the disease in a number of ways, including asking Canadians to work from home, cancel large social gatherings to limit crowds, close certain non-essential businesses and limit international travel. This has resulted in restrictions on, or even closure, of food banks, shelters or other social services.
We are working with food banks to ensure that they are able to remain operational at a time when many support services are having to shut down. We are working with other support services to provide their vulnerable clients with hygiene supplies to allow them to protect their health. We are also working with first responders to allow them to pass on hygiene supplies to the vulnerable people they interact with on a daily basis.
Ultimately, our response to this crisis is going to have a bigger impact the more we are able to partner with other local agencies striving to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities.
