There is a desperate need to support India going through the second wave of COVID-19. With several hundred thousand people being affected everyday India's social and health support system is overwhelmed. Bhumi's COVID Relief Support is aimed at connecting people in need through our volunteers and helpline with either funding support and/or people who can support them.
India battles a catastrophic coronavirus second wave that has overwhelmed hospitals, with crematoriums working at full capacity. The distressing images, the fear and pain is growing with each passing day. The second wave of coronavirus has once again decimated incomes and is threatening food security for the poorest of the poor. COVID 19 has also hit the underprivileged children of India disproportionately. Their education and nutrition are both at severe risk.

Rama sold flowers for a living in her area - Stanley Nagar, Chennai and her husband was a daily wager. Due to the Pandemic, the couple were not able to do their jobs thus, resulting in financial struggles. With the support of donors, Bhumi's COVID Relief Support Team carried out the due diligence and provided financial support to the family. Rama was able to feed her family three meals a day and also started her flower sales with the left-over money, slowly growing her business.
