Your contribution to more than 100 000 meals

Dear friend,

Most of us are still suffering from the pandemic, which hit all of us –more of less- without exception.

The pandemic has been an incredible lesson of life, driving us to all sorts of plans to survive.

Although we still had to care for our animals, we couldn’t do our environmental education and community outreach. We did not want to give up and just wait while most of our local neigbours started to be hungry. Of course we also knew that with hunger would come an increase in poaching and criminality.

We decided to adapt our priorities to the crisis and called all of YOU for help in purchasing food parcels to feed the most needy our team identified through a serious screaning process. It wasn’t as easy as we excepted to GIVE food and we all learnt about the tricks, the do and don’t!

Thanks to YOU, and local suppliers we were able to deliver a total of 1038 food parcels which helped to serve more than 100 000 meals!

With YOUR donations we could also meet our local farmers who kindly gave extra fresh fruits and vegetable. We could load trailors and cars and travel in the village to distribute fresh food that was so appreciated.

The pandemic has been an incredible lesson of life, driving us to all sorts of plans to survive. We did not think that everybody would suddenly start to care so much for each other!

As the situation is now better we are now getting back to our initial environmental focus but still have our ears open ready to intervene in any punctual assistance to fight hunger, which should not exist anymore in this 20th century.

Thank you for trusting us in feeding our community and contributing to the urgent need of food for our community. We would definitely not have been able to do it without your generosity.

I sincerely hope you are all healthy on your side and as positive as we all are here at DAKTARI.

Lots of love from DAKTARI and South Africa.
