The only way we can break the circle of poverty in future generations is by helping our children to obtain a good education. This project ensures that children in need have access to a quality preschool and aftercare center. Our program based on the PLAY WITH A PURPOSE curriculum, focuses on the 8 learning areas of the child's brain. As far as possible, we will try to expose our children to the "world out there" so they can develop optimally, which also includes emotional intelligence.
Currently we have 76 babies and children attending our COMMUNITY PRE-SCHOOL & AFTERCARE CENTER on a daily basis and the PLAY WITH A PURPOSE Pre-School Curriculum under the leadership of Helen du Plessis is followed. We do not want to turn away any children, and very few of our parents can afford to pay any school fees. We receive NO FUNDING whatsoever from our Government and have to rely solely on donations, as well as hosting our own fundraising events, to meet our monthly operating budget.
The only way we can break the circle of poverty in future generations is by helping our children to obtain a good education. We have been running our COMMUNITY PRE-SCHOOL & AFTERCARE CENTER now for 8 years, serving many vulnerable babies, toddlers and children from our Community. Therefore, we would utilise this project's funding to expand and improve our Preschool & Aftercare services, where we would be able to assist more children in need, creating a bigger footprint with a larger impact.
To provide a high-quality COMMUNITY PRE-SCHOOL & AFTERCARE CENTRE with trained teachers as well as an assistant for the small children and babies where the children are stimulated and prepared for school and where they are well looked after, holistically. We provide support for our children with all their educational needs to ensure that they are educated and supported to ensure future success in their lives and eventually self-sustainability, in their adult lives.
