We wanted to thank you, our donors, for your support of Ukrainian moms of children with disabilities.
Our beneficiary, Yana, and her son, Tymur, live in Donetsk Oblast. Being the mother of a child with disabilities, Yana did not have many opportunities to earn an income as her son requires full-time care. The miserable state pension is not enough to feed the family, and there are few employment opportunities with flexible hours in their hometown. So, Yana decided to take the matter into her own hands. She completed hairdressing courses and started offering hairdressing services. Despite stiff competition in her small town, Yana is working hard to build her clientele.
Bright Kids helped Yana purchase hairdressing products to support her business. There are so many moms of children with disabilities in Ukraine that need just a bit of encouragement and support to start a business venture and build a new life for themselves and their children.
We want to be there for these women and their children, to provide a platform for mothers of children with disabilities to build a new life.
