Our friendly and nurturing Day Care Centre will provide a safe place for the working parents in our community to leave their toddlers whilst at work. Without our care, the children would go to work with their parents to dangerous places such as construction sites, where they would play and sleep onsite or by the roadside.
People from poor areas of Nepal often come to Kathmandu in search of a better life. With no specific skills these people (often single mums) are obliged to work on CONSTRUCTION SITES or as house maids to provide food for their children. As they do not have a safe place to leave their toddlers they take them with them exposing them to a dangerous environment, at risk from physical injuries, health problems, lack of timely nutritious food, careful attention, love and guidance at this crucial age
Our Day Care Centre provides a SAFE PLACE for the poor parents to leave their toddlers while they go to work. Parents can earn a living knowing their toddlers will be safe in our loving care all day. Toddlers receive timely nutritious meals and snacks, rest/sleep, healthcare, potty training and other basic social skills. They also enjoy educational games, playing with toys, singing, going on picnics and visiting parks. We also organise annual child development training for the caregivers.
The project will build a good foundation for the toddlers to become healthy adults with the chance of a better future. It will give their parents the opportunity to earn money for their child's education which will help new generations to become educated and capable of finding better jobs. This will support the community's development and ultimately at some level the development of our entire nation. 1,000s of people will be affected by the toddler's positive life change.
