The situation in Sudan is desperate.
The war is now in its second year.
11 million people have been displaced.
1.2 million pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are malnourished.
Across Sudan, pregnant mothers are facing childbirth alone. With no medical assistance.
Can you imagine?
But in our rural villages, thanks to your support, our Midwives continue to work day and night to aid women through childbirth, to hold their hands, to give reassurance, and ultimately to save their lives and the lives of their unborn babies.
Many more mothers and babies would sadly die without the help of our Midwives, their knowledge, their training.
And that's all thanks to you.
Thank you so much for enabling us to train two Midwives in each of our villages.
We could not have imagined just how critical our Midwives have been as families face what the UN calls "the world's worst humanitarian crisis".
That is why we need to be ready to train more Midwives, provide more Midwifery kits, as soon as we can, as soon as it is safe to do so.
Thank you so much. You really are helping us to save lives in Darfur and we are so grateful for your support.
