Dear Friends and Donors, Namste!
Reporting Period: July to October 2025 Project: Learning Centre for Children from Waste Picker Families, Guntur
I. Impact and Achievements (July - October 2025)
We are delighted to share the inspiring progress of the Learning Centre, a beacon of hope dedicated to providing care, protection, and vital educational opportunities for 50 vulnerable children in Guntur.
Educational Transformation: A significant achievement this quarter is the successful enrollment and retention of 40 children in regular schools.
100% Cessation of Child Labor: These children have shown improved attendance, active participation in school, and have completely ceased waste-picking activities. This is a powerful testament to the transformative power of education.
Empowerment and Confidence: The children's newfound confidence, combined with the unwavering support of their parents, highlights the profound and positive impact our program is having in breaking the cycle of poverty.
II. Unexpected Challenges and Resilience
This quarter brought an immense and unexpected challenge that tested the resilience of our families and team:
Community Displacement: The government's major road construction initiative led to the demolition of the children's family homes.
Community Strength: Despite being scattered to different corners of the area, the families bravely chose to remain in the same locality, diligently rebuilding their living huts.
Operational Continuity: Our Learning Centre continues to operate from a local rented house, ensuring the uninterrupted provision of education and a much-needed daily breakfast for all 50 children.
III. Urgent Appeal for Support
The resilience and commitment of these children and their families must not be compromised. We continue to face significant financial constraints.
Crucially, this project has not received any external financial support since November 2024.
We urgently appeal for your generous and immediate support to sustain and expand our efforts. Your donation will directly provide the necessary stability for these 50 promising children, giving them the tools, they need to build a brighter future.
Your contribution is more than just a donation; it is an essential investment in their immense potential and a testament to your commitment to creating a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for your unwavering kindness and continued support.
Gratefully,
The BASS Learning Centre Team
