A Special Report from Guntur | November 2025 – February 2026
Dear Friends, Partners, and Supporters,
As we look back on the past four months in Guntur, we find ourselves at a profound crossroads. This period has been defined by a "Season of Resilience"—a time where the strength of our mission was tested by nature, infrastructure changes, and financial silence. Yet, through it all, the light of education has not flickered.
I. Standing Firm Amidst the Storm
The final months of 2025 brought immense trials to the families we serve. Following the heavy rains and the devastating cyclone in October, our community faced the loss of their humble dwellings. In the immediate aftermath, BASS stepped in to provide blankets and essential relief to families who had lost everything.
Adding to this, a major government road construction project led to the displacement of the entire community. While their homes were demolished, the spirit of these families remains unbroken; they have stayed in the same vicinity, rebuilding small huts to keep their children near the hope of an education.
II. Two Years of Unwavering Commitment
Perhaps our greatest "silent achievement" is that this project has operated without a single external donation for 24 months. Despite this, our dedicated volunteers and teachers refused to walk away. Because of their sacrifice:
III. The Horizon: Launching the BASS Primary School (June 2026)
We are now preparing for a historic transition. As we close the chapter on the "Learning Centre," we are evolving. Starting in March 2026, our team is working tirelessly to track and "mainstream" our students to ensure no child is lost in the relocation process.
Looking ahead to the new academic year in June 2026, we are launching a Formal Primary School Initiative for Slum Children.
IV. A "Miracle Moment": Our Urgent Appeal
To turn this vision into a reality by June, we cannot walk alone any longer. After two years of self-sustained struggle, we are reaching out to you. We have the teachers, we have the students, and we have the heart—but we lack the resources.
We urgently seek partners to help us cover:
Your support today is the cornerstone of a brand-new school. It is an investment in a "miracle" that has been two years in the making. Let us ensure that these children, though displaced by machines and storms, are never forgotten by our hearts.
With deep gratitude,
