Update - thank you!

Dear friend and supporter of ending povery in Vietnam,

As you know, the following is the current context in Vietnam:

1 out of every 5 Vietnamese still lives on less than $5.50 per day (World Bank, 2023), and 26% of the population lacks access to the internet (World Bank, 2021). There is a significant social, economic and geographic divide leading to less education opportunities in the central part of the country. More than half of young adults aged 16 to 20 do not have access to education. Our students come from various remote regions, and about 30% of our students belong to ethnic minorities.

What we do to offer an opportunity and a future to disadvantaged youth:

Operating in Vietnam for 15 years under a license from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PNV offers a 3-year training program for underserved youth, helping them escape poverty sustainably and gain lifelong self-development. The program is focused on Software Development and Testing (DeV) with 3 majors: Web Development, Mobile Development, and Automation Testing. Since 2017, PNV academic partner is Da Nang Vocational Training College. At the end of the program, students receive a college degree in Information Technology from our academic partner and an international certificate from Passerelles Numériques.

PNV's curriculum offers not only an innovative but also a comprehensive view of students' development in the age of Industry 4.0, including technical skill sets, language skills, and transformational skills. The program also includes 2 internship periods lasting for a total of 8 months, giving the students with hands-on experience and chances for better employment. This year, to equip better for final-year students with transferable skills, PNV has introduced an AI-integrated specialized module with three topics in collaboration with four companies: Automation Testing, Full Stack and Front-End Software Development.

On-the-job training: 20 IT companies partnered with PNV to provide internships for 8 students: 5-month program for final-year students from April to August, and 3-month program for second-year students from July to August. During their internships, 76% students had a chance to contribute in real-world projects.

In October, PNV's Graduation Ceremony of PNV24 (class 2021-2024) was held where 43 students graduated. This event attracted near 300 participants, among whom 59 participants were from 45 public and corporate partners. Up to six months after graduation, 95% of graduates secured a job, with 87% working in the IT sector. The average salary ofthese new graduates is USD $350 compared to USD $53, the average income of students’ families before joining PNV.
