Thousands of people affected and are still vulnerable by severe flooding in Southern and northern part of Pakistan. Recent heavy rain in Karachi and Sindh Province killed 15 people due to urban flooding and have destroyed properties and valuables of worth billion of Rupees. Donations will provide relief to survivors in the form of supplies like food, shelter, water, and medicine in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.
At least 15 people, including women and children, died after they were swept away in a flash flood caused by monsoon rains in Karachi and river flood in District Dadu in Sindh Province, whereas dozens were reported to be missing.According to the State Disaster Management Authority, the flood had also destroyed thousands of houses, multiple shops and the locals have been directed to move to safer areas.
All donations to this fund will support recovery and relief efforts for flooding and monsoons in Pakistan. Initially, the fund will help survivors' immediate needs for shelter food, fuel, clean water and hygiene products. Once initial relief work is complete, this fund will help the locals to rehabilitate.
AWARD Pakistan will provide long-term support to survivors and communities of natural disasters like these floods. AWARD will prepare people to respond to the emergency more effectively through Disaster Risk Reduction Training. Donors will reported about the funds utilized through reports and pictures . Local Volunteer force will be prepared to help people in need.
