Thousands of children spend weeks or months in hospitals due to illness or injury. Many face pain, boredom, and fear during treatment. This project will provide 2,500 new toys-books, puzzles, soft dolls, and games-to help lift their spirits. Simple gifts can bring joy, reduce anxiety, and give children a break from the daily stress of hospital life.
Hospital stays are stressful for children, especially in under-resourced facilities with little to distract or comfort them. Many hospitals lack basic play materials, leaving children feeling isolated and scared. Pain, long treatments, and boredom can make recovery harder. For many families, buying toys is not an option. Children need comfort, distraction, and moments of joy to cope.
The project will donate 2,500 new toys to hospitals and clinics where children are receiving care. Toys will be selected based on age and condition-soft toys for toddlers, puzzles for older children, books, and games for teens. Staff and volunteers will distribute toys during visits. Each child will get a toy they can keep, giving them comfort and distraction during a difficult time.
Toys help reduce stress and improve emotional well-being in children. When a child feels less anxious, they respond better to treatment. Simple gifts can also strengthen the bond between families, children, and hospital staff. This project can lead to better patient experiences and support hospitals in creating a more caring environment. The toys can continue to bring joy long after discharge.
