This project delivers a prosthesis to a disability person who also has a high level of poverty, our Foundation gives all treatment and therapy needed with the implant. This program not only gives a prosthesis but addresses with mental, emotional and social trauma experienced by amputees
Colombia has more than 3.500 of amputee people due to various causes such us landmines, diabetes, snakes bites. It means not only to lose a limb but to lose jobs, friends, family, independencia and hope. In addition, many amputee people also suffers unfavourable and precarious living conditions and they don't have resources or a possibility of having an appropiate treatment.
This project seeks to restore mobility to amputees as the first step in transforming their lives. Time of Peace Foundation offers a program for improving life quality of lower limbs amputee people, we give patients the prosthesis, therapy and social awareness during the process, sometimes we must also pay for their transportation, accomodation and meals because patients live far from Medellin and they don't have resources.
We have the challenge of benefiting 100 people annually giving them a lower limb, polycentric knee, therapies and accompanying during the process.
