This project brings healing and hope to children who have lost one or both parents due to the war in Ukraine. Through psychological rehabilitation camps and educational programs, we help children process trauma, rebuild a sense of safety, and continue learning despite profound loss. Every donation will be matched 1:1 by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development under EBRD Community Initiative.
Children in Ukraine who have lost one or both parents due to the war face severe psychological trauma and disrupted education. Many struggle with grief, anxiety, and emotional instability, alongside learning gaps caused by interrupted schooling and prolonged stress. Without timely support, these challenges can lead to long-term emotional and developmental consequences.
The project addresses children's needs through two integrated approaches: psychological rehabilitation camps and long-term education. Professionally led camps provide safe, structured spaces where children and caregivers process trauma, cope with grief, and rebuild emotional stability. In parallel, 9-month English education programs close learning gaps, restore routine, and equip children with skills for future education and careers -supporting both recovery and long-term development.
Educational support will reach 1,300 children, including 307 enrolled in a full 9-month English course, improving academic skills and future opportunities. Psychological rehabilitation camps will support 140 participants through two camps: "Strength in You" for children aged 8-15 and "Firefly" for children aged 3-7, together with their caregivers, strengthening emotional well-being and resilience.
