Importance of school uniforms
By Caren Davids | Office Manager
Receiving new uniforms
Supplying school uniforms for children in rural communities is a wonderful initiative with multiple benefits.
Providing uniforms ensures that all children have access to the same attire, regardless of their socioeconomic background. This promotes a sense of equality among students. Wearing a uniform can instill a sense of pride and confidence in children. Knowing they are dressed appropriately for school can positively impact their self-esteem and overall attitude towards learning.
Wearing a uniform fosters a sense of belonging and unity among students. It creates a feeling of being part of a community and helps reduce feelings of exclusion. Lack of appropriate clothing can be a barrier to school attendance for many children. By providing uniforms, you remove this obstacle and encourage regular attendance.
For families struggling financially, purchasing school uniforms can be a significant burden. By providing uniforms, you alleviate some of the financial stress on parents, allowing them to allocate resources to other essential needs.

New School Uniforms
What an exciting time of the year.
Complements of the season to everyone. .
Nourish is not only about reaching the goal, but about bringing intention into each step o the process. This year our school uniform program included brand-new, 100% recycled and recyclable school shoes made from non-hazardous medical waste, including IV bags and tubing that was safely collected and sanitised. These My Walk School Shoes comes with a beautiful message for our children "The school shoes shine and we really hope that the children's future does too"
In South Africa, it's compulsory to have a school uniformto attend a goverment school. For many families , who live just under or at thebreadline, this is an additional expense that is almost unaffordable. The pressure can have a server negative impact on most households as the forfeit food and basic necessities to save for a uniform. Thank's to this platform and our monthly donors we could provide uniforms to some of these vulnerable children and take the pressure of the households during the festive season.
We are gratefull that we could give new unifroms and school shoes to 73 children for their new school year of 2024.
Hopefully we will be able to distribute some more much needed school uniforms throughout the year and this way make life a little easier for more households.

REMAINING THE SAME IN ALL CASES (UNIFORM)
By Rirhandzu Mnisi | Project Administrator
The appeal to help dress our children in a proper school uniform is still an ongoing campaign. We are still asking for help with the buying of school uniforms for both our GreenKidz and the Rise creche.
Now being towards the end of the year we are asking for help in buying uniforms for the 21 graduates that we have this year, the graduation ceremony will be held on the 15th December 2023 where each child is gifted a full school uniform for their first year in primary school.
This helps lessen the burden of having to buy a school uniform that some parents can not afford and it also helps our children to enter their grade R with dignity, so that is why we are appealing to you to help us in buying these uniforms.
On the other hand we are very excited to inform you that in this quarter 15 school shoes,15 socks, 10 skirts, 4 trousers and 15 school shirts were given to some of our Greenkidz in the outreach program, this is only a portion of children that we were able to help by giving the uniform there are still many more children who goes to school barefoot or a torned jersey at the elbow. This is why we think its crucial for us to keep reaching out to people who will be able to help us in improving the sad situation our African Children find themselves in.
Thank you!
