A timely alarm can save a family's life. In the high-risk neighborhoods of La Paz and El Alto, heavier rains, floods, and landslides put thousands in danger. Red Habitat works with women community leaders to install early warning systems and organize neighbors to act fast. Through this effort, more than 600 families learn to recognize threats, trust clear alerts, and respond quickly to stay safe when climate emergencies strike.
When floods or landslides strike La Paz and El Alto, every minute counts, yet many neighborhoods lack clear alerts or safe evacuation plans. Fear and confusion delay action, especially at night. Women, who care for children and elders and know their neighbors well, lack the tools and organization to warn families in time. Without preparedness, foreseeable threats become tragedies. Your support can help over 600 women lead safer, faster community responses.
Red Habitat turns fear into collective preparedness by placing women at the center of community protection. In high-risk neighborhoods, trained women activate loud alarms during floods or landslides, while families receive simple emergency guides and kits with essentials to respond quickly. Neighbors also form Risk Prevention Committees, led by women, to monitor threats, share clear protocols, and coordinate with local authorities for an organized, inclusive response.
With this project, over 600 families in La Paz and El Alto are now better prepared for climate emergencies, with early warning systems and life-saving guidance. Women leaders organize their communities, coordinate with authorities, and empower neighbors to act quickly. Families respond with confidence, protecting children, elders, and vulnerable groups. Your support turns fear into preparedness and builds safer, stronger, more resilient neighborhoods.
