Provide medical and housing assistance to the victims of the Indonesia earthquake, which hit May 26. Immediate needs include medical care, food, and shelter.

Challenge

Over 6,200 people have died due to a level 6.3 earthquake in Indonesia. Over 200,000 individuals have been displaced. The hospitals have reached capacity and many victims are being cared for in the streets. According to news reports this is the worst disaster to hit Indonesia since the the 2004 tsunami.

Solution

Funds collected will be allocated to GlobalGiving partners who are currently in the field and responding to the disaster. Specific activities will be posted soon.

Long-Term Impact

200,000 people have been displaced and will require short and long term relief efforts including food, shelter, and housing.
