Summary

This program aims to strengthen the economy of 300 female heads of households and their dependents (2500 children) in rural and peri-urban areas in order to guarantee social, economic and health stability in the province of South Kivu. Thanks this program, 600 women heads of households and their dependants will improve their lives thanks to income-generating activities, 2,500 children and 150 young vulnerable mothers will see their lives improved through health,education and skills development.

Challenge

The situation of recurrent wars in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has led to social instability for more than two decades, with a harmful impact on the lives of citizens, especially women and girls.Almost the entire part of the Kivu region has been occupied by armedgroups, which have caused rape, violence and the looting of resources of peaceful citizens, of whom women and girls have been the most victims,not only has this affected the psychological aspect but also social and economic life

Solution

This project aims to meet the social and economic needs of women and young mothers living in rural and peri-urban areas by providing them with the necessary skills thanks to apprenticeship training in different trades that they will have to choose through a specialized technical structure. . Thanks to these professional skills, many women will see their lives transformed, but also that of their dependents, thanks to the survival activities they will have to carry out after learning activities.

Long-Term Impact

120 women, including 45 girl mothers who are victims of sexual abuse, 45 women living with HIV/AIDS and 30 sex workers, will learn trades and be available as cut and sew, computer and art workers culinary;20 best learners among women trained at the center will improve their living conditions after being hired after apprenticeship,20 best female learners will see their load reduced on the partial care of these dependent people (children);45 vulnerable women mentioned above will be, cfrproject doc
