Dear Friends, Partners, and Supporters,
We are pleased to share highlights from this quatner, as we launched the second school term at EDD School and embraced a new year filled with renewed commitment and growth.
Learning Progress
Learning progress remained at the center of all our practices, as it is a key measure in developing each child’s full potential. At EDD, we focus on the holistic development of children through cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.
This year, EDD is committed to educating 150 students. While this responsibility is significant, we are deeply grateful to stand alongside partners and supporters like you who have continued to walk with EDD on this journey.
In partnership with Teach Rwanda, EDD conducted Module 2 of the Teachers’ Professional Training Program (four sessions) for educators who joined in September 2025.
Due to overlapping commitments within both organizations, the training started later than planned. However, the final session was successfully completed on January 17, 2026, followed by the awarding of certificates to participating teachers.
At EDD, we remain committed to equipping our staff with the skills and professional development necessary to deliver high-quality education and foster long-term learning proficiency among our students.
To ensure effective learning outcomes:
Christmas Celebration – December 18, 2025
On December 18, 2025, EDD hosted a special Christmas celebration for children and their families.
This event holds deep meaning for us, as many of our learners may not otherwise have the opportunity to celebrate the holidays due to limited resources. It was a joyful moment of unity, celebration, and community bonding. Seeing families come together in happiness reminded us why our mission matters.
Welcoming Learners for Term Two
The new term began with a morning assembly, where students received guidance, encouragement, and reminders of EDD’s core values:
The assembly set a positive and focused tone for the academic term and warmly welcomed learners back into their studies.
School Hygiene and Sanitation Campaign – “Fresheri ku Ishuri”
EDD School actively participated in the “Fresheri ku Ishuri” hygiene and sanitation campaign.
Students engaged in cleaning activities around the school compound, learning the importance of:
Through this initiative, learners were encouraged to maintain cleanliness both at school and at home, fostering lifelong healthy habits.
Environmental Awareness – Tree Planting Activity
As part of promoting environmental responsibility, students participated in a tree-planting activity within the school compound.
This initiative:
We are proud to nurture environmentally conscious future leaders.
Nutrition
Nutrition plays a very important role in school life and in running a successful learning program, as it provides the energy and strength 150 children need for healthy growth and active learning. During this period, we were fortunate to receive support through GlobalGiving funds, which allowed us to significantly strengthen this important area.
Our Valued Partnerships
GlobalGiving and its Individual Donors
EDD extends heartfelt gratitude to GlobalGiving and all individual donors worldwide who trust our mission and support our work.
During the December Giving Tuesday campaign, your generosity raised nearly $6,700, which has significantly strengthened our start to 2026 and helped secure the continuation of our programs.
Your trust and commitment are transforming lives.
