As the new academic year is about to begin, it is our delight to share with you how your support is helping to bring continued development and progress at Dhammajarinee Witthaya School (DWS).
Launch of Stem Teacher Training
On 21 April, Dr. Stuart Kohlhagen began a two-week intensive teacher training with 20 DWS faculty. These teachers—from the math, science, and computer science departments—have come together with the goal of implementing engaging, relevant, hands-on STEM learning across their classes.
Computers from AustCham
Dhammajarinee is grateful to have received a donation from the Australian Chamber of Commerce—one of Thailand’s most active and diverse foreign chambers, founded in 1977. In addition to promoting business relations between Australia and Thailand, they contribute to a range of social and charitable programs throughout the country.
The donation was used to purchase four desktop computers for the school’s STEM Makerspace. The desktops are installed next to the school’s four laser cutters, enabling students to easily participate in advanced manufacturing projects and develop important 21st-century skills.
2025 Graduates
We are delighted to announce that all 44 graduates are planning to attend university—an incredible achievement, especially considering that only 5% of children from similar backgrounds typically have this opportunity. Many of the students have already been awarded scholarships and others are waiting to hear from their university of choice.
About half of our graduates have chosen STEM majors—a significant milestone in fields where women remain underrepresented. Their studies will include medicine, nursing, veterinary science, agricultural innovation, chemistry, mathematics, architecture, public health, pharmaceuticals, software engineering, and electrical engineering.
Education and Community Leaders Support Royal Scholar in Ratchaburi
Last month, Dhammajarinee’s Director Dr. Passakchai welcomed Second Lieutenant Somchai Ngamsuksawat, Ratchaburi’s Provincial Education Officer, along with officials from the Royal Scholarship Monitoring Committee, the Red Cross, and the Interior Ministry Housewives Association. They visited to follow up on a Grade 10 student who has received a Royal Scholarship from His Majesty King Rama X since elementary school. She will continue receiving support until she completes grade 12. Chosen for her academic excellence, exemplary conduct, and perseverance despite family hardships. The student’s dedication reflects the profound impact of the Royal Scholarship in empowering deserving students.
Royal Recognition
Dhammajarinee Witthaya School is deeply honored by the gracious recognition of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who kindly bestowed royal trophies for the National Group Recitation Competition. We are delighted to share the wonderful news that our students achieved outstanding success—earning second place at the primary level and third place at the secondary level in this prestigious national event.
