We'd like to share the story of Jelnar, an orphaned girl who lost her father when she was 8 years old. Despite the challenges, her mother never gave up on her. Jelnar grew up under her mother's care, as her mother worked tirelessly to secure a better future for them both.
After a period of interrupted education due to displacement lasting three years, Jelnar refused to succumb to her circumstances. She returned to school through Masarat initiative, finding her opportunity once again. Rediscovering her passion for writing after a hiatus, Jelnar shared some of her writings with us.
“In the poems of the poet Nazik Al-Malaika, she spoke of an imaginary city called "Taybah." Nazik was determined to find this city, despite its impossibility. Her life was spent waiting to visit the city of her dreams. What remarkable determination and persistence! Unlike Nazik, our dreams are simple, realistic, and achievable. If we have the determination and patience akin to hers, all our goals will undoubtedly be realized”.
Through Jelnar writings, we sense her hope for a brighter future – a future that you have helped bring closer to reality. Together, we are sowing the seeds of change and nurturing the potential that lies within each young mind.
