With Your Impact, We Rebuild Syria, One Child at a Time

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Imagine lighting a candle in complete darkness! This is how your contribution feels—building a new life for a child who has lost everything.

Let’s pause for a moment and imagine the life of an orphaned child in Syria. He’s no older than ten but has witnessed more than any human should endure. He lost his mother while seeking shelter in her arms and his father while fleeing devastating bombings. School is no longer part of his life, and dreams have become a luxury he can’t afford.
But now, imagine this child attending his lessons online, from his humble home or temporary shelter. Picture his teachers extending their support and encouragement, and how an online community makes him feel less alone—all thanks to you!

At the "Masarat" initiative, over five years of relentless effort, we’ve managed to transform the lives of more than 2,000 orphaned children through remote education. Education here is more than just learning to read or count—it’s a new gateway to a world full of opportunities.

But what makes this education so impactful?

1. Empowering Orphans to Become Change-Makers

Through education, a child becomes more than a recipient of knowledge. They transform into a productive individual capable of providing solutions and rebuilding their homeland.

2. Breaking Poverty Cycles and Building a Sustainable Economy

Education is the cornerstone of breaking the cycle of poverty. With knowledge and skills, orphans can access better job opportunities, fostering economic independence.

3. Enhancing Mental Health and Building Confidence

In the world of these orphans, loss and trauma dominate. But education offers more than just information. It grants self-confidence, emotional security, and the belief that they can overcome life’s challenges.

4. Promoting Social Equity and Equal Opportunities

Online education ensures that every child, regardless of their circumstances or location, receives an equal opportunity.

5. Rebuilding Syria with Knowledge and Education

The Syria we aspire to rebuild won’t rise through weapons but through knowledge and innovative ideas. Every child educated today becomes a part of rebuilding their country tomorrow—whether as a teacher, doctor, engineer, or even a leader steering change for the better.

At Masarat, we’ve witnessed remarkable transformations in the lives of children who benefited from remote education. Children who once hesitated to speak about their dreams now discuss their plans for the future. Amjad and Rahma, two of our students who lost their father in the war, resumed their education through the Masarat initiative. Today, their story inspires other children to continue their learning. Mohammed, who worked in harsh conditions to support his family, was able to complete his studies thanks to the flexibility of remote learning. He now dreams of becoming an engineer to help his community. [Watch his story]

These are not just individual stories—they are seeds for vast fields of change.

Investing in a child’s education today is investing in Syria’s future. These children will grow up to be the scientists, teachers, leaders, and doctors who will rebuild their country. Education is not just an opportunity; it is a legacy that lasts.

But the story doesn’t end here. Thousands of orphans are still waiting. Waiting for a chance to learn, a chance to live. Syria, torn apart by war, is waiting for those who will rebuild it with knowledge and education, love, and hope.

Together, we will rebuild Syria, one child at a time. We are deeply grateful for your partnership.
