What Did Our Students Learn This Month?

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

What is the greatest impact you can have on someone’s life?

Is it giving them the opportunity for education? Empowering them to build a more secure future? Or providing them with a lifelong tool? You are offering all of this to our students. Thank you!

This month, the Masar Academic Guidance team launched a new session titled "Enhancing Critical Thinking Skills." But this session was unlike any other before.

The attendees were diverse: students bringing their questions—some confused, others eager to explore new horizons. But what made this session truly different was the urgent need for this skill in today’s world.

Why is critical thinking more important now than ever?

We live in an era where media manipulates information, and rumors spread faster than facts. In this world, critical thinking is as essential as reading and writing. Without it, students may fall victim to misinformation, leading them to make decisions that negatively impact their future—without even realizing it.

Imagine a student facing a life-changing decision...

They are bombarded with conflicting news and differing opinions. They have two choices:

Either be swept away by the chaos, unaware and passive, or take charge of their mind—capable of distinguishing, analyzing, and making the right decision.

And that’s exactly what this session aimed to achieve! Students developed their critical thinking skills through hands-on exercises where they:

Learned to differentiate between truth and misinformation, making decisions based on evidence rather than emotions or public opinion.

Improved their ability to analyze problems and find smart solutions instead of surrendering to obstacles.

Practiced engaging with diverse perspectives with an open mind rather than blindly accepting any presented idea.

Students were presented with various news stories and reports and were asked to identify which were true and which were false.

At first, many relied on intuition and fell into the trap of misinformation. But after careful analysis and training on verifying sources, they began to see things from a new perspective—a perspective of a conscious critic rather than a passive recipient. And all thanks to you…

Because you believe in the power of knowledge… Because you see them as the leaders of the future… Today, you are a partner in building minds capable of real change.

Thank you once again, for not just giving them answers… but for empowering them to ask the right questions!

Together, we are shaping a generation that thinks—and a generation that transforms!
