Many of our orphaned students begin the school year with an invisible sense of loneliness; the father who was supposed to ask about their grades or buy their supplies is no longer there, and this starts to affect their motivation after the first few weeks.
At Masarat, we try to compensate for this absence by building a “supportive community” around the orphan: a teacher who tracks their progress, an educational counselor who encourages them when they fall behind, an academic team that checks in if they miss a session, and generous donors on GlobalGiving who make the learning opportunity possible in the first place.
When the orphan realizes that more than one party cares about their success, they feel educational safety and keep going.
Thank you to all our GlobalGiving supporters, you are a cornerstone of this community that safeguards orphans’ education.
