Malak..Mending the Tent's Holes with Knowledge

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Malak strives to mend the holes in her tent, in a scene that summarizes the bitter reality experienced by thousands of displaced students. Malak is not merely repairing a piece of worn-out fabric; in truth, she is trying to protect her dreams from the winter cold and the winds of despair that buffet her daily life.

Malak lives in an environment that lacks the most basic elements of stability; the tent she inhabits is her school, her home, and her only refuge. Every hole Malak tries to mend represents a life challenge she has faced since losing her father, yet she refuses to surrender to the tears of fate, insisting on remaining a "learner" despite everything.

How does "Masarat" extend a helping hand to Malak? We realize that mending the tent protects the body, but education is what protects the soul and builds the future. Therefore, we help Malak through:

  • Transcending Geography and Fabric: We deliver education to Malak inside her tent via mobile phone, so that knowledge becomes the light that dispels the darkness of displacement.

  • Psychological and Social Support: We accompany Malak on her journey to reassure her that she is not alone, and that being an "orphan" is not an inevitable destiny of misery, but rather a drive for excellence.

  • Educational Flexibility: We provide her with an educational system that fits her responsibilities in caring for her tent and family, ensuring her opportunity for development is not lost.

Our Partners at GlobalGiving When you see Malak's hand stitching the holes of her tent, remember that your support is what stitches her "future." You are the ones who provide her with the phone, the internet, and the teacher, so that she is not forced to spend her entire life mending fabric, but can one day soar toward broader horizons worthy of her intelligence and ambition.

Because of you, Malak’s tent is transformed from a mere "place of displacement" into a "laboratory of hope."
