The orphaned student, Zain, stands in front of his tent, placing his hand on his younger brother’s shoulder in a scene that summarizes the meaning of "double orphanhood." Today, Zain is the sole support for his family after the loss of their father. His confident features hide the burden of a great responsibility, as he balances the role of a child who wants to learn and the role of a man who must protect.
Every glance in Zain’s eyes says: "I will not allow displacement to steal my siblings' future." Zain spends his day securing his family’s basic needs, but in the evening, he steals time to connect with the world through "Masarat," searching for the knowledge he believes is the key to his escape from the narrowness of the camp to the vastness of life.
How does "Masarat" support Zain in his noble mission? At Masarat, we realize that Zain represents the "silent hero" in stories of displacement; therefore, we design our support to be a true pillar for him:
Education as a Lever for Responsibility: We provide Zain with a flexible education that values the time he allocates to supporting his siblings, enabling him to complete his studies without having to choose between his "family duty" and his "personal dream."
Building a Leadership Personality: We accompany Zain through academic advising tracks to enhance his leadership spirit and help him transform his resilient energy into brilliant academic success.
Knowledge Security: In an environment lacking all types of stability, "Masarat" represents a stable window for Zain that grants him hope that his tomorrow will be better than his today.
Our Partners at GlobalGiving When you contribute to Zain’s education, you are supporting the steadfastness of this "Little Father" and providing him with the tools to lead his family out of the circle of need and into the circle of production.
