When Education Becomes a Unique Fingerprint

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

At Masarat, we believe that every student is a unique case, and that the path toward excellence does not pass through a single study method imposed on everyone, but rather through the student's discovery of the way their own mind works. From this standpoint, we held an important interactive session within the Academic Advising track titled: "Individual Learning Styles: How Do I Study the Way That Suits Me?"

Why is this session pivotal for our students? Our students live in exceptional circumstances (displacement, orphanhood, and living pressures), which makes the time allocated for studying very precious. Our goal for this session was to help the student:

  • Discover their own style: Introducing students to the different styles (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Reading/Writing) and providing them with the tools to discover the style that suits them.

  • Effective Application: Training students on how to transform rigid study materials into media that suit their style (such as converting texts into visual charts or auditory recordings).

Session Outcomes:

  • Improved Academic Performance: By investing time and effort in methods that ensure the maximum levels of understanding and comprehension.

  • Boosting Self-Confidence: Reducing the frustration resulting from the feeling that the material is difficult, and discovering that the problem was in the "study method" and not in the "student's innate abilities."

  • Independence in Learning: Empowering the student to build their own study plan in accordance with their style and their environment within the camp or partitioned housing.

Our Partners at GlobalGiving Your continuous support is what makes the Academic Advising track a reality. We do not just provide lessons in mathematics and science; we build the "learner's personality" that is aware of its own capabilities. Thanks to you, we grant these orphans the keys to their minds, enabling them to excel despite all material and spatial obstacles.
