Julnar..When Dreams Are Written

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Julnar, a girl whose journey with orphanhood and displacement was more than just a statistic—it was an early test of resilience. Julnar lost her father at the age of eight. In that darkness, her mother stood as a solid wall, working tirelessly to weave a future worthy of her daughter’s ambition, despite the harsh reality.

After a painful three-year hiatus from school due to repeated displacement, Julnar refused to remain a captive of her circumstances. She found in Masarat the window that brought her back to her studies. Through our virtual screens, Julnar didn’t just reclaim her lessons; she rediscovered her lost passion for writing, beginning to document the dreams she once thought were lost in the chaos of the camps.

Between Nazik's "Tayba" and Julnar's Reality In the poems of the great Nazik Al-Malaika, we find mentions of a mythical city called "Tayba"—a city Nazik spent her life searching for and waiting to visit, despite the impossibility of its existence. Julnar wrote in one of her inspiring pieces:

"Unlike Nazik, our dreams are simple, realistic, and achievable. If we arm ourselves with the same determination and patience, our goals will undoubtedly shine."

Our Partners on GlobalGiving, Through Julnar’s writings, we feel a genuine hope for a brighter future—a future that you helped bring closer to reality. Your donations were not just funding; they were the ink with which Julnar wrote her first verses of returning to life. Together, we are not just teaching curricula; we are planting the seeds of change and nurturing the latent potential in the mind of every youth who decided never to give up.
