Reading as a Journey of Discovery

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Your support is helping students discover that reading is not only about finishing a book. It is about asking questions, expanding the mind, and learning how to see life from new perspectives.

At Masarat, we believe that reading can shape a student’s way of thinking. It helps them reflect, imagine, analyze, and connect ideas to their own lives. Through “Masarat Reads,” students are encouraged to enter the world of books with curiosity and purpose.

The journey begins with simple but powerful questions: Why do we read? What should we read? And who can accompany us in this journey of thought?

These questions help students understand that reading is not a passive activity. It is a conversation with ideas, experiences, and human stories. It can build critical thinking, emotional awareness, creativity, and the ability to express thoughts more clearly.

As students explored different types of books and reading fields, they were introduced to the deeper value of reading: how a book can strengthen life skills, inspire courage, and help a young person understand themselves and the world around them.

One meaningful source of inspiration was Helen Keller’s Three Days to See. For students, this book was more than a reading assignment. It was an invitation to reflect on determination, gratitude, and the strength of the human spirit.

Your generosity helps make this kind of learning possible.

Because of your support, students at Masarat are not only learning to read. They are learning to think, question, reflect, and grow through reading.

Thank you for helping open books that open minds.
