Her Courage to Begin Again

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Returning home after years away is not always an easy new beginning, especially when reality looks different from the memories and dreams we have carried with us.

One of our students at Masarat shared her story after returning to Syria. She spoke about her emotions, the challenges of adjusting to reality, and the moment she decided not to let those difficulties determine her future.

Her words reflected remarkable determination:

“I will not give up. I will return, because my future and my identity are here. I will start again, and I will achieve my dream, no matter how difficult the journey becomes.”

For this student, joining Masarat was more than an opportunity to continue her education. It was a step toward regaining the ability to plan for her future, explore new opportunities, and pursue her ambition of one day contributing to rebuilding her country.

Reflecting on this step, she shared:

“Joining Masarat is a great challenge for me, but it is my path toward achieving my dream once again.”

Her story reminds us that courage does not mean living without fear or difficulties. It means finding the strength to take another step forward despite them.

Education cannot change a student's circumstances overnight, but it can provide the knowledge, tools, and confidence to navigate challenges and create new possibilities.

Thanks to your donations through GlobalGiving, we can continue providing educational opportunities and support to students determined to continue learning and build their futures, regardless of the challenges they have experienced.

Thank you for helping young women like this student turn the decision to begin again into meaningful steps toward their dreams. Every educational opportunity you make possible can become the beginning of a success story written by the students themselves.
