Dear friends,

Here in the US, it's Thanksgiving week/weekend.

We fully realize that you might not celebrate Thanksgiving – or that you celebrate Thanksgiving on another date. We acknowledge that another date/holiday could be more significant for you. We respect that.

We realize that it’s been an incredibly difficult year for many of us. We feel with and grieve with you. We likewise went through difficult times - as individuals and an organization.

Despite all difficulties of 2020, we know it is beneficial to regularly find something to be thankful for.

So, during this USA Thanksgiving season, we pause today to express our deepest appreciation to you for your support.

Thank you for being there. We appreciate you!

You are like family to us as we share common values. We are working towards a mutual goal – empowering and educating girls.

Please take a minute to watch this appreciation video.

So, as you celebrate with family or quietly alone over this week/weekend or during your next season of rest - take time to reflect on the role of giving in our society.

Giving makes the world a better place for us all. What we sow comes back to us.

Today, we highlight some more of the behind-the-scenes processes -  from when we receive in-kind donations.

Almost every day that we are open, we receive boxes with donated supplies. These empower and supplies boost the learning of our girls in Sierra Leone.

  1. Donations are processed by first being logged into inventory
  2. Then they are stored in cabinets or packed into barrels/drums
  3. Finally, they are shipped out.

The included photos show some of this. This is a team effort and we are all involved.

Covering the costs of shipping is a crucial part of this process. Your donations help get the supplies into the hands of our girls.

In this season of reflection, we are so very thankful for your donations here on GlobalGiving.

We are very thankful for the mailing services and staff who deliver the donated supplies.

We are very thankful for the donors who send us school supplies.

We are very thankful for staff members at the office who help to sort and pack supplies.

And we are very thankful to you for taking the time to read this report.

We appreciate you all.

Happy Thanksgiving!
