Dear Project Supporters,
We greatly appreciate your support, which is helping young ladies get their education like Thomasia. She is in the process of retaking her end of high school exams. And Geraldine, not only lost her parents to Ebola but is an Ebola survivor as well. She has been a part of the Develop Africa family since 2014 and is now in her second year of college. Her goal is to eventually become a lawyer so she can give back to her community.
Geraldine and Thomasia are only two of the girls that YOUR support has directly impacted. You are our hero... You make our work possible.

International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8 and focuses on the 5th sustainable development goal, which is gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. This day helps us review progress made and take action towards a better future.
Women in Northern Africa hold less than one in five paid jobs in the non-agricultural sector. The proportion of women in paid employment outside the agriculture sector has increased from 35 percent in 1990 to 41 percent in 2015 https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/gender-equality/
Per UNICEF, In country after country, educating girls yields spectacular social benefits for the current generation and those to come. An educated girl tends to marry later and have healthier children. The children she does have will be more likely to survive; they will be better nourished and better educated. She will be more productive at home and better paid in the workplace.
