Your Gift is Truly An Answer to Prayer
By Amy M Baty-Herbert | Project Coordinator
Agnes
Dear Project Supporters,
Even today fewer opportunities and options are provided to girls/women in Sierra Leone. While this is a global issue, the impact of this is crippling to the destinies of girls in Sierra Leone. Imagine having to drop out of school so your brother can continue. Imagine not getting all the supplies that you need to be successful in school. We could go on and on ...and on.
You can also imagine the questions that run through the minds of the girls. You can also almost hear their silent cries for help and for a chance to further their education.
Your generous support is a true answer to their prayer. Because of your giving, hundreds of girls are receiving the support that they need to advance their education.
You have most recently helped us provide scholarships to Agnes and Nchunmalen. Agnes is in class six or sixth grade and she is working hard to become a banker when she grows up. Nchunmalen is in class six and is working toward her goal of becoming a nurse. We are so excited to be part of helping them fulfill their dreams.
Your one-time gift and on-going support will help other girls like Agnes and Nchunmalen move towards reaching their full potential.
Thank you for being an answer to their silent prayer and cry for help. This means much more to them than you would ever realize.
There are still many more girls that are not able to continue their schooling? Will you be the answer to their cry for help today?
With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa Team

Providing Opportunities For Girls to Reach Their Full Potential
By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Coordinator
Konnie is one of the scholarship recipients
Dear Project Supporters,
Thanks in part to your generous donations we were able to give 16 young ladies scholarships for school this year in Freetown.
The parents of the young ladies receiving scholarships were so thankful for the scholarships. The scholarships "made the impossible possible ". The families would not have been able to afford to send these girls to school without the scholarships.
Pictured below is Konnie holding her scholarship envelope with a smile of appreciation. She has just started JSS2 and hopes to be a teacher in the future.
Also pictured is Isata who is starting JSS3 and would like to be a Nurse when she finishes school
Rosaline, also pictured is in SSS2 Art and is working toward her goal of becoming a lawyer.
October 11 is the International Day of the Girl Child. It's a UN designated-day - dedicated “to help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls’ lives, providing an opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential.”
Helping girls move towards reaching their full potential is what we have been doing together. We are so grateful for your support.
As we focus on the UN call to help girls worldwide reach their potential, our goal today is to provide 11 more girls with scholarships of $120 each. Please join us in providing opportunities for 11 girls today. For each donation of $120 and above, you will receive a photo and a thank you letter from the girl receiving your support.
Thank so much for your kind assistance and investment into the lives of girls.
With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa Team

Our School Supplies are Making a Difference - Reinforcing Quality of Education
By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Coordinator
group of girls holding supplies
Dear Project Supporters
Thanks to YOUR support, in June, we distributed school supplies to 36 girls at the FAWE school in Freetown. Your donations made this possible and helped to cover shipping costs from USA to the school.
The girls were elated to receive the supplies and you can see the excitement and broad smiles on their faces in the photos. They send their deep appreciation to YOU for helping to get these supplies to them.
See more photos of smiling girls with school supplies.
Getting girls in school is one thing. The next best thing that we can do is to ensure that they have the tools needed to learn. Thanks to your kindness the girls have the supplies that they need from notebooks to pens, pencils, sharpeners etc.
By providing these supplies free to the girls we are saving the parents from spending their meager resources in purchasing these supplies.
- Together we are helping to educate girls and educate Sierra Leone.
- Together we are truly helping to ensure a better educational foundation for the women who will be the future leaders of Sierra Leone.
- Together we are helping to reinforce the quality of education that these girls are receiving.
- Together we brought smiles to the face of these precious girls.
- Together we are making a difference.
Thank you, partner!
With much appreciation
