Jamaica students celebrate parent graduation

By Paul Montgomery | Director of Marketing and Content Management

Parent graduation celebrated by students
Parent graduation celebrated by students

At Christel House Jamaica, student success has always begun at home. This year, that belief was powerfully affirmed as the school celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of parents from the Customer Service Level I & II certification program—a milestone that extends opportunity beyond the classroom and into the heart of each family.

The ceremony marked more than the completion of coursework. It represented determination, sacrifice, and a shared commitment to building stronger futures. For many participating parents, returning to structured study required balancing work schedules, family responsibilities, and long-standing personal goals. Yet they persevered—demonstrating to their children the very resilience and discipline Christel House seeks to instill in every student.

Through the certification program, parents gained practical, marketable skills in communication, professionalism, workplace ethics, and service excellence. These competencies are essential in Jamaica’s growing service economy and position graduates for more stable employment and advancement. Just as important, the program strengthened confidence. Parents walked across the stage not only with certificates in hand, but with renewed belief in their abilities and expanded vision for what is possible.

This initiative reflects Christel House Jamaica’s holistic approach: when families thrive, students thrive. By equipping parents with job-ready skills, the school helps create more secure households—environments where children can focus on learning, growth, and long-term success. The ripple effect will be felt in higher aspirations, improved academic performance, and greater financial stability for years to come.

Special recognition goes to Stefan Roper of HEART Trust NSTA and Brian Hutchinson of the Christel House Jamaica Social Services Department. Their leadership, guidance, and commitment were instrumental in launching and sustaining the program. Through strong partnership and hands-on support, they helped turn vision into reality.

As Christel House Jamaica continues its mission of changing life outcomes, this parent graduation stands as a reminder that education is most powerful when it engages the entire family. From classrooms to careers—and from parents to children—the impact is generational.
